Remote Control Transmitter programming guide for VW Sharan 1997-1999 model years.
No tools required.
☛ You must close all doors, liftgate/trunk and windows in order for this programming procedure to work.
☛ This procedure is for the remote keyless entry only and has nothing to do with the ability to start the engine.
Step-by-Step procedure
1. Insert the key into Driver Door Lock.
2. Using the key, turn the Driver Door Lock from Neutral to Open position 3 times and keep the key in the Open position about 5 second.
3. Remove the key from Driver Door Lock.
When done properly, the driver door LED should illuminate. For next steps you have 20 seconds:
4. Press and hold the Lock Button at your Remote Control Transmitter.
5. Still pressing the Lock Button - press the Unlock Button 3 times.
6. Release the Lock Button.
The driver door LED should flash to indicate successful programming.
Repeat procedurę from step 4 for learning additional remotes (up to a maximum of four).
Wait 15 seconds before trying remotes.
